PPC Classroom Launch Disaster
PPC Classroom - one of the most expected launches in the Internet Marketing circles.
Authors: Jeremy Palmer from Quit Your Day Job fame and Anik Singal - most known from his Affiliate Classroom membership site.
And one of the prime examples how things can go wrong.
What happened?
The launch was supposed to be today, September 25, 2007 at 12PM ET.
Couple of minutes before the official opening time there was a message on the site home page and the blog that due to some unexpected technical problems the launch has been delayed.
First it was 15 minutes, then 1 hour, then more… as the time passed nothing has been happening. Well, except their blog where people post their comments and frustrations became inaccessible. On and Off - many times when I tried to post something even access it for updates it gave me 405 error, or ‘fatal error’ or simply just WordPress error message.
One would think that if these guys Are really making so much as they claim they would at least spend a decent money on some decent programmers, and have their own Robust Decent Servers, not to mention a “smart” BACKUP at different independent servers - even a different name for the redirect at their DN registrar, etc…!
Then after over 2 hrs or so finally the Sales page appeared. Guess what? When I tried to order and hit the Pay now button I got another Fatal error message!
Now what? Was my Credit Card charged or not?
After couple of attempts to post my question on their blog I was finally able to access it and post only to find out how many people have been disappointed and disgusted with all this Circus.
I Know the things “Can” go wrong and especially in this artificial computer/Internet world, but it Did make people mad and confused because they didn’t know what’s going on.
To be honest at first I did not even consider buying this course because I am getting more and more sick of all this Big Brother PPC game where The One who Pays is being dumped and pushed around by the one who is Taking Money from the payee -
(can you imagine Anything like this in the “Real world”? = the merchant You give Your money is Kicking you Out from his store just because you didn’t adhere to his ’secretive rules’ he never actually Reveals to you…?
Russian communist style of dealing with people, anybody? I was born into a totalitarian system and risked my own life to escape so I CAN “smell” that kind of behavior at a thousand miles! So Please Don’t bother to tell ‘me’ this is not a “Big Brother” behavior!)
- but then I received a bonus offer from one marketer I had truly hard time to refuse.
So I said to myself: what the heck. Go for it maybe it will help you to get money faster for your Ultimate Goal = being able to buy Media Advertising. ’cause that is where the Truly big $$$ kicks in, without ever worrying what the next caprice of some SE will be.
[BTW: this is another Mystery to me:
Why anybody in his right mind, who is supposedly making all these Big $$$ on the Net - would even bother with some PayPerClick advertising?
Losing their time and nerves for this Overinflated, Over-Priced, Over-expensive way of advertising, when you can get that nice calm easy-breeze much more Cost Efficient Media Advertising…?
Any Big Company which is spending Huge amount of money on PPC advertising are to me bunch of idiots! The same like it was before that dot.com crash where they were throwing fortunes to every crazy idea which had something to do with ‘Internet” without even knowing Why]
Anyway, since I had to go to see my surgeon, I left all this mess, only to come back about 3 hours later to find out that no matter what I did my Credit card got Declined!
I checked my account online - sure enough, nothing wrong, my business CC has Plenty of room on it, yet it got declined 3 times! The same card I’ve just used yesterday for a payment through Paypal.
Now I am wondering What actually happened/will happen? Because also while I was filling up the form my FireFox browser was telling me that the site is NOT secure, there are “Unauthorized items” on the page.
They should’ve offered an alternative like Paypal, 2Checkout etc - which I believe would be much more Secure.
So for now I gave up, left with bad taste in my mouth because up till now Jeremy’s ebook High Performance Affiliate Marketing - Quit Your Day Job was one of the very few e-books I’d ever given my Highest recommendation. And I Truly thought Jeremy is one of the Exemptions in this Wild West Internet Marketing world of scammers and “who cares” “marketers”.
[I am not commenting on Anik]
Oh yeah, one more thing: in case you are wondering where that Blog I am talking about is, I have to tell you “I don’t know”! It simply ‘disappeared somewhere’ and no matter what I try it does not exist anymore.

An Update:
I’ve just gotten an update from PPC Classroom that they have been attacked by some bastard DOS.
I do feel sorry for them but it also does make me wonder about the safety of my Credit card.
I still think they should had offered an Alternative payment as well! It is much harder to get down Paypal or 2CO or another big experienced CC processor company.

Oh well, that does sound a bit of a bad day huh? I know, things like that can get you nuts.
However, Murphy’s law will sure turn around and its gonna be all in your favour again. I dont make much money
out of anything yet, but i know the bux on ppc are well spent.
Umm, about decent programers. I think they have them. The mistake they did was not to test the program
in a long enough Beta Phase.
anyway, back to work eh,
Cheers Sam

Well, if you consider “all in your favor again” the issue that to THIS DAY = Oct. 17, 2008! they did NOT deliver all what they have promised in their Overhyped last year launch of PPC Classroom 1.0 - even I omit all the other troubles I had to go through (read my posts) - I do find it Very Un-Ethical!
Not only that, they had the impertinence actually send me an Email telling me to Buy one of the Early bird bonuses they were supposed to give to the first people who purchased their product! Which I did!
