Protect Your PPC Campaigns from Spies
I got a new issue #125 of Internet Marketing Secrets ezine from Michael Campbell yesterday. Since Michael ’s ezine is one of those I always read, I printed it, got my coffee and started to read first article “Easily Dominate Your PPC Competition”
Boy was I in for a shock! I couldn’t believe my own eyes what I have read. This from the guy who wrote “Let Your Own Morals Guide You” article just an issue before! Where he basically condemned Chris Carpenter’s (he does Not name him) offer of promoting Google Cash Detective because it [Quote:] “- in my opinion - is ethically and morally wrong. And it breaks at least two of God’s 10 Commandments.” …[/end of Quote]
Yet just a couple of days later the Same guy writes an article where he promotes and Recommends AdSpyPro - the software which basically does the Same like those others he was so ‘disgusted’ with!
Where he finishes his article with a grandiose recommendation how you should buy this software so you can “squash your competition like a bug, any time you choose.”
Which is one of The Most Disgusting things I have ever read on the Net and I certainly did not expect This from a guy who writes about morale and God’s commandments just a couple of days before!
FYI Mr. Campbell that “imaginative competition” who you describe like something nasty, buggy, unreal etc… could be “Me”! or 1 of you friends. Or even if it is a stranger it still is a Living breathing Human Being who spent tons of time to find a successful product, set up his PPC campaign, figured it out, is spending his/her own money on it, just to try making a living from this tough world of cyberspace marketing.
And now suddenly all will be taken from him/her by some dirty scumbag who is Lazy to put all that work necessary, so he rather STEALs other people hard work! (Didn’t You mention it is criminal also? There are certain “Copyright Laws” for what I remember)
How would you like if I would look at you as a “bug” I just “squash” when I decide to go into your BBQ or cellular accessories etc markets and was lazy to do My Own Work so I steal your success?
Ok, now to clarify: I Do Own AdSpyPro. As I said, I got it from JP as a faithful customer of his.
And yes, I have set up couple of campaigns because I want to have an idea if an affiliate Can even make money in certain markets because this is what I am focusing on. And so far from 8 campaigns Only One seems to have enough space for affiliate to be profitable, although I don’t even believe that result since I know that market very closely as a Merchant!
Anyway, the point is that I think that it “Is” morally and ethically wrong to steal other people’s hard work, and I was disgusted with the way these softwares are misused, so I was pleased today to get a message about a new software which will Protect your PPC campaigns from all these Spy tools.
It is called PPC Defender and you can download it for FREE from the www.ppcdefender.com
PPC Defender claims it will protect your Ads, Keyword Lists & Landing Pages from GCD, UCP etc so they cannot pirate your hard work.
This script can tell whether or not requests to your site were made by a “detective” tool or just a regular person. If one of these robots is trying to spy on my PPC campaigns it gives you several interesting ways to respond:
1.) It can return them a “403 Forbidden” HTML code status
2.) It can send them to an HTML with no link
3.) And if you really want to get nasty… You’ll send them an affiliate link containing your WORST converting affiliate product!
I don’t know yet if this tool Will do what it promises, as I’ve just got it couple of minutes ago, but I certainly Intend to use it!
So should you if you want to protect Your Hard Work!

I came across your blog while researching ppc defender. It’s really interesting you felt this way because I too am a subscriber to Michael Campbell’s newsletter and had these exact same thoughts about his sudden recommendation for AdSpyPro. I’m not judging the owners or the users of the products per se as all of corporate america ruse and spy on their competitors which is why and how we the consumer ultimately benefit. I guess my problem was with the rant that he gave about these type of products and then a week later recommended a similar product.

I’m researching Adspypro and find how to resolve the script problem. Then found your blog.
PPCdefender is necessary for affiliate marketing in the future.
